But even with a world's worth of knowledge up her sleeve, Martha still consults other cookbooks from time to time. And there's one book in particular that she turns to above all the rest. At a recent event in Las Vegas, Nev., Martha was asked which cookbook she would choose if she could only have one in her kitchen. Martha immediately named Irma Rombauer's Joy of Cooking, first published in 1981, as her all-time favorite. She regularly goes back to this time while cooking and researching, Rolling Stone reports. The cooking classic was updated in 2019 by Rombauer's grandson, John Becker, and his wife, Megan Scott. The latest version features 600 new recipes and more than 4,000 revisions and updates. During the panel, Martha also talked about her upcoming 100th cookbook, which is currently being finalized. The book—slated for release this fall—will feature Martha's favorite 100 recipes.
