Best friends Martha and Snoop Dogg have cooked for each other on multiple occasions. From taping their show, Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party, to Snoop teaching Martha the perfect method for making bacon, the two are constantly learning new things from one another in the kitchen.

But despite how many meals Martha has made for Snoop over the course of their 15-year friendship, there is one dish Snoop loves above all the rest: Martha's buttermilk chicken. "It takes a whole day to make cause you got to let it sit in the water," Snoop told Insider. "I still don't know how to make it, but that dish right there is a dish that I would love to perfect."

The recipe Snoop is referencing is probably Martha's Basic Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Our founder's secret to perfect fried chicken is submerging it in ice water overnight. The next day, she soaks the chicken in buttermilk for at least four hours in the refrigerator, which gives it a subtle tanginess. The result? A perfectly crisp exterior and moist center.

For Martha's part, the best meal Snoop has ever made for her is a dish she actually introduced him to: Lobster newburg. In a 2020 interview, Martha told Insider she was "shocked" when Snoop created his own version of the recipe. "He won't touch a lobster, but he will cook Lobster Newburg," she said. "I thought that was really funny."
